A sunny day at the golf course

On the way to Wyandotte County Lake (see previous blog post "A cloudy day at the lake"), I stopped at The National golf course here in Parkville and was looking for anything interesting. This scene stopped me right away. I think it is just a great composition, with the trees and their shadows plus the curved golf path neatly dividing the image. It would be simple to just drive by and not notice, but when I am really "looking" at the world around me I do see the possibility for a nice image.

  1. great image!
it really makes a difference to have a curve show up in an image that potentially has so much "straight" movement. In that I mean, the camera is moving in one direction, so the image is made up of many marks all heading the same direction generally, and many times these are trees being stretched even longer, making what can be a very linear image.
So catching a curve is great.
Also, are you aware that your images posted here are quite small when clicked on? It would be nice to see them bigger, unless the file size is just too much. Or you are worried about piracy issues.

  3. adam,
thanks for the comments. I guess I was keeping the images pretty small, so I've re-posted them bigger.

  4. adam,
mostly I think I was not planning to post only "wonderful" shots, but instead post what kinds of things I was shooting and how they turned out. Sort of a process thing. I figured some of them would be better if I kept them small.
